Full description

Enjoy idyllic lake life in the green outskirts of Stockholm and have an unforgettable experience of canoeing and dining in the woods. After the meeting and pickup at Kallhäll station you will be warmly welcomed in Ängsjö recreational area where our boat house and café are located. You will find lockers for your valuables or if you wish to change your shoes or clothes before you go (also dry bags for the trip available). Toilets are available on the site too. For those traveling with own car or by bike our tip is to come earlier, take your time and explore the area on well marked hiking trails or have a swim and sunbath in one of the great beaches before you start the evening tour.

We will pack freshly prepared dinner and equipment and board the canoes. Full instructions about paddling and safety, brief explanations of the route will be provided on spot and you are ready to go. Paddling in the evening light on the Lake Mälaren is an unforgettable experience itself. Mälaren is Sweden’s 3rd largest and the most diverse lake. Nowhere else you will find such a variety of natural landscapes and history layers in one place. Viking trade routes and settlements, royal castles and old nobility’s properties surround the lake while lush forests, rocky cliffs and numerous islands are the natural parts of it. Learn about the area with a local guide while paddling around Munkholmen island. Depending on weather conditions the place for the dinner will be selected on an island or in the nature reserve on the mainland. Taste 3-course local dinner, just prepared in our small family run café. Candle light dinner and remote location is a perfect combination for a genuine tranquility experience. Watch the sunset over the lake and woods and paddle back to Ängsjö in the warm summer twilight. After the tour your guide will bring you to Kallhäll station so you can easily catch the next train going back to city.
